Damn you, Idol!

Last night America’s votes named Lee DeWyze as the next American Idol. Don’t get me wrong, Lee has an amazing voice and is immensely talented but I was really hoping that Crystal Bowersox would have won. I adore Crystal’s voice and think that regardless of her winning or being runner-up on Idol she is going to have an amazing career. A voice like that deserved to be shared. The come-from-behind win by Lee not only shocked people like myself but shocked Lee himself. “I’m so happy right now. I’ve never been happier in my life,” Lee said following the announcement.

You can’t deny this kids talent, though. (And he’s a cutie!)

Cooler than me

This song ALWAYS makes me want to get up and dance around. I must admit, the first time I heard it I was NOT a fan, but the more I listen to it, the more I fall in love with it.

Not only is the beat catchy, more of a house mix feel, but the lyrics are pretty fun/silly. (:

RIP Ronnie James Dio

I counldn’t believe the news when I heard it, earlier this week, Ronnie James Dio, legendary vocalist for Black Sabbath, Heaven & Hell and Dio, died after a battle with stomach cancer. Ronnie died early Sunday morning at the age of 67. He was being treated at M.D. Anderson in Houston.

Check out Ronnie James Dio’s Greatest Album Moments. My thoughts go out to Ronnie’s wife Wendy and his friends and family. The music world just lost one of its greats.

The Carter

If you haven’t seen this movie yet, I really suggest you do. I gained a lot of respect for Lil’ Wayne and his music after watching it. I seriously watched it TWICE in two days because I liked it so much -  and I’m not a fan of documentaries! Check out the trailer for The Carter and then go rent it (or Netflix it like I did:).

I loved it, I hope you do too!

I will always love these…

I love old album covers, the good, the bad and the ugly. These happen to be the unsexy, althoublggh by those poses I guarantee they thought they were oozing sex with these poses.

This is the number 1 of The 19 Most Hilariously Failed Attempts at Sexy Album Covers, and number 1 in my book as well! A few thoughts run through my head when I see this… 1) Why? 2) Poor photographer 3) Was there not a single person there that said, “hey maybe we should try another pose”? 4) Will we look back on album covers from the 2000’s and think the same things I think about this one? and 5) Shouldn’t you have muscles when you flex?.

Some may think this is sexy, I however am not one of those people! I always love these album cover lists because they are down right hilarious. I understand the process of picking an album cover can be difficult, I often wonder when looking at these kinds of covers (I guess this would be 6) what the other options for covers were, was this really the best?!

I hope you enjoy this funny list for the weekend!

It’s true… It’s just another Manic Monday!

This Monday has already started off rocky… and it’s not even 10 a.m. It’s definitely going to be a Manic Monday for me. I don’t know many of the songs by The Bangles but this one fits my Monday perfectly!

I hope you, unlike me, you can’t relate to the song Manic Monday today… And if you can, keep your head up, we have a long week ahead!

Even they went to school…

If you’re anything like me you’ve had those days at school where you can think of a million better things to do. I often even convinced myself that it was necessary for me to go to the mall during my class instead of after (an easy sale, might I add). I am always amazed to learn where artist come from. We’ve seen them on stage, under bright lights, but its strange to think that a few years ago people we sitting in class next to people like Carrie Underwood (who I share a similar degree with). I found this great list of well-known performers who have college degrees (some of the more strange that I thought they would be). Here is a great list of Schooled: musicians and their college degrees. I hope this empowers everyone to finish school and THEN make it big! (:

Have a great Friday! Enjoy your weekend, I know I will!
