Young Money.

OK, so I just had to post this because I absolutely love this song! For some reason, it just makes me want to dance. It took me so long to find it online, partly because “young money” is far too popular of a term in the music world because of Young Money himself and partly because I couldn’t remember Vita Chambers name for the life of me. I finally heard it again on my lovely XM Radio this morning and wrote it down. (I knew I would forget it again if I didn’t, especially because it’s a Friday.

Here is “Young Money” by Vita Chambers

I hope that this song gets you in the Friday mood as much as it does for me! I also hope that those who are signed up for the workshop this afternoon have a great learning experience. I haven’t yet had the chance to go to one of the workshops to observe but I’ve heard so many great things about it! Also, don’t forget that our Sacramento campus has open labs every Friday! It’s a great chance for you to fine tune your skills.

I hope everyone has a great weekend! (:

OMG, I love this! I wouldn’t have ever realized this if these guys wouldn’t have made such a funny song out of it… I’m a huge fan of both music and comedy, when they both come into play I am just head over heels in love! I spent my morning listening to this over and over. I hope you enjoy the 4 Four Chord Song from Axis of Awesome as much as I did!

Please tell me I’m not alone in loving this… Thank you Axis of Awesome for the 4 Four Chord Song!

Coachella anyone?

I went to Coachella a few years back and fell in love. This year, I didn’t have the chance to go because of budget and time… I’m almost glad I didn’t. I love this blog post The Six Stages of Attempting to Enter Coachella four and five are my favorites because I experienced both of those on my last Coachella adventure.

If anyone has any good pictures from Coachella that you would like to share, send them my way! I would love to see what the crowd and area looked like this year! If you did go to Coachella, I hope that you didn’t encounter all the problems with getting in!!

Conan is a Creep

Wait, scratch that - Conan covers “Creep”… During the sound check before his inaugural performance Tuesday night of his “Legally Prohibited” tour in Eugene, Ore., Conan O’Brien played and sang Radiohead’s breakout single. I wonder if this performance is just a sign of what’s to come in Conan’s new late night show that will air on TBS? I’ve always been a huge fan of Conan - Team CoCo from the beginning - so seeing him perform like this puts a smile on my face. Check out the video of Conan singing from NBC Chicago.

I can’t wait for Conan to be back on the air… I’ve been boycotting late night talk shows since NBC kicked Conan off the air. (Seriously, they kicked Conan off before considering Jimmy Fallon? Granted, Jimmy was great on SNL but when it comes to late night… he’s no Conan O’Brien!) I can only pray that TBS will let Conan be his crazy, usual self. I hope that it also bring some recognition to TBS - a station I happen to watch and love!

Are you kidding me?!

Filed under: Music, Video Games — Christy @ 8:48 am April 9, 2010

This completely baffled me! On the Taiwanese talent show called ‘Super Star Avenue,’ which is much like ‘American Idol’, Lin Yu Chun sings Whitney Houston’s “I will always love you” better than she can (in my opinion). This kid is SO talented. If he had some new material (and a better hair cut) he could really be a star. Watch the video below and let me know what you think… Also check out this article I found on Digg.com.

Amazing, right?

Weezy from prison.

You may have read recently that I have become a fan of Lil’ Wayne aka Weezy in the past few months. I think this is because of the massive exposure a group of friends has given me in while riding in their vehicles. (A forced listening experience to start.) I stumbled across Weezy’s new prison blog today and I really like the direction it is going in. He took his first blog post as an opportunity to thank some of his fans that have written him since he began his prison stint. Check out Weezy’s blog while he is in prison, very interesting!

Open lab days in Sacramento!

I let you know of something cool to do on Friday’s if you are in the Los Angeles area (check my last blog about the workshops if you would like more information) but did you know that there are NO classes scheduled on Friday’s at the Pinnacle College Sacramento campus? This is because Friday’s are when students come for open lab day.

On open lab days (in any lab – classroom or studio), students can spend time in the studio, play with their ProTools and do all the things they are taught to do, under the supervision of an instructor. Labs are open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. EVERY Friday for ALL students to attend.

pcphotoHere is student is Maria Jimenez.  Mixing up the drum set and getting a level check.  Maria was tracking: recording saxophone, drums and keyboards.   Maria comes from a musical family, her brothers have a band, and she is recording them.

If you want any information about the workshops or open lab days just leave me a comment and I will get right back to you!
