I hope everyone had an amazing, safe holiday season. I know it isn’t quite over yet, with New Year’s being just around the corner. Can you believe that it’s almost 2010? What do we say now “twenty-ten” or “two thousand and ten”? I think I like Twenty Ten, just because it is simple, haha.

What amazing gifts did you receive this holiday season? Did you get to see any family you haven’t seen in years? I got to meet two of my three-month0old family members that I hadn’t met before. Both children reminded me that being a mom isn’t in my near future.

As much as I love holiday music I’m glad its going to all be over soon. Even my XM Radio got bombarded with Christmas tunes, which is fun and all but if you have ever worked in retail you know how quickly those xmas tunes can get old.

Now I can’t wait for New Year’s — the biggest party day of EVERY year. I think my friends and I are headed to the beach to celebrate, dance and get a little crazy. What are your New Year’s plans? Anyone going to Vegas?! I’ve always wanted to go for New Year’s but I’m not a fan of large crowds, haha.

I hope everyone had a safe holiday season and got everything they could have ever wished for, if not… The after Christmas sales are going on right now and they are insane!

Even after some were made an example of with big fines and outlandish punishments for downloading music illegally from the internet the rates of those who download illegally is not decreasing. Check out this article from the BBC News  No Decrease in illegal downloading, say BPI. I think this is just something that artist are going to have to deal with, they need to make the money on their shows, not their CDs.

What a better way to begin celebrating the Christmas season then with a classic Christmas song… That’s right, Alvin and The Chipmunks — Christmas Don’t Be Late. This song brings be back to being a child actually watching The Chipmunks on TV, my brother and I use to annoy my parents by playing this song over and over (we recorded it on a TAPE!).

How cool ABBA, Jimmy Cliff, Genesis, the Hollies and the Stooges are headed into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!!! (: I’m a huge ABBA fan, probably because thats all my dad wanted me to listen to as a kid, but I love ABBA regardless!

Is there anyone that you wish would have made it into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year? Who do you think will be inducted next year?

Thinking about classic rock makes me wonder where rock will be in the next few years, what the next generation of rock music will be like. Do you think people 30+ years ago thought that this is how rock would evolve? No way, right? MTV went from music television to reality TV, as did VH1. I miss the times when music TV was really music TV not reality TV.
