R.I.P. Adam Goldstein

After the way my Friday started I wasn’t sure that I really wanted it to be the weekend, but my weekend (minus my Friday) went fairly well.

I did receive some bad news, DJ AM (Adam Goldstein), a famous disc-jockey (both for his music and his dating), was found dead in his Manhattan apartment on Friday around 5 p.m. Police suspect that his death was not a crime but due to drug use.

Here is a video of DJ AM weeks before his death:

Crazy huh?

Typically I love Friday’s, they are the greatest day of the week because I know for the following two days I have NOTHING to do. But this Friday isn’t starting off so great.

Every morning before I start writing my blog I check a plethora of sites. After browsing the sites that update about music news I realized that there was nothing big going on.

Taylor Swift got flowers from Rihanna, which was a very nice thing to do, but news? I’m not sure.

So after being frustrated by the main stream news channels I checked places like Digg and YouTube for anything interesting posted by everyday people. I found a few cool videos that I liked, opened a new tab on my web browser to look at them and… My sound isn’t working?

Yes… it is on, it is turned up, there is actually something playing… I checked. (Haha)

I shut down my browser, my whole computer in general, thinking that maybe my HP just isn’t in a good mood. Turned it back on and nada. Granted I do have sound… I just can’t play ANYTHING. Not even a MySpace song.

After about an hour and a half of being completely frustrated on a Friday morning I threw in the towel. I’ve decided that I am going to start saving my money for a MAC desktop. My laptop just isn’t holding up its end of the bargain anymore.

I am going to head off to the gym, hopefully I can relieve some of this Friday frustration.

Ps. I really do miss you computer sound. ):

In other news…

OK, so everyone has probably heard by now that Michael Jackson’s death was ruled a homicide by the coroner and that his doctor is the lead suspect. His personal, former doctor, Conrad Murray, allegedly left Jackson alone after administering several different drugs to aid in Jackson’s sleep. It still seems up in the air if they will charge Murray with manslaughter or some other murder charge.

But there is OTHER news! Maybe news that isn’t as shocking or crazy as Jackson related news, but it is still news!

  • Kings Of Leon are in the works of creating a new album. (I absolutely LOVE the Kings of Leon!)
  • Beyonce is Billboards “Woman of the Year”
  • Reba McEntire nets second no. 1 on Billboard top 200. (I was the biggest Reba fan growing up. When I was in elementary school my friend D and I would blare “When the Lights Went out in Georgia” and sing it at the top of our lungs (: )
  • The Principal from “Saved By The Bell” (you know you watched it too!) is releasing a KARAOKE album. E1 Music Entertainment is said to release “Karaoke With Your Favorite Principal Dennis Haskins A.K.A. ‘Mr. Belding.” The CD/DVD set is said to be released on Sept. 1.
  • CD TRACK LISTING
    1. School’s Out
    2. California Dreamin’
    3. Piano Man
    4. What A Wonderful World
    5. Brown Eyed Girl
    6. Georgia
    7. Friends In Low Places

I cannot wait for this to come out, I bet it is hilarious! (: These random tidbits were to remind you that MJ is not the only one in the news and that music, dance and MJ’s spirit will continue to live on.

“The Downward Spiral”

Last night Nine Inch Nails fans got a bit more than they had expected when the band played “The Downward Spiral” in its entirety. This was the first time the 1994 classic had ever been played from start to finish.

Here is a video of “The Downward Spiral” being played in Toronto in 1994: (It’s not the best video but it does give you an idea of the mood that was present during the performance.)

Man how I wish I could have been there last night, or shoot, to have been able to see them live back in 1994. The people at last night’s show got a real treat, I’m definitely jealous.

Paramore- Ignorance.

I LOVE Paramore, Hayley Williams has such an amazing voice. The groups newest video is a bit weird, definitely not for someone who gets claustrophobic, haha. The video and song are a bit more dark than some of Paramore’s previous singles.

You know I can’t help but love a girl with bright orange/red hair, oh how it suits her so well.

Not only do I like the beat of the song but I really like the lyrics. (Lyrics below are provided by www.letssingit.com- my favorite place for checking lyrics to a song.)

If i’m a bad person, you don’t like me
Well, i guess i’ll make my own way
It’s a circle
A mean cycle
I can’t excite you anymore
Where’s your gavel?
Your jury?
What’s my offense this time?
You’re not a judge, but if you’re gonna judge me
Well sentence me to another life.

Don’t wanna hear your sad songs
I don’t wanna feel your pain
When you swear it’s all my fault
Cause you know
We’re not the same
We’re not the same
Oh, we’re not the same
Yeah, the friends who stuck together
We wrote our names in blood
But I guess you can’t accept that the change
Is good
It’s good
It’s good

Well, you treat me just like another stranger
It’s nice to meet you sir
I guess I’ll go
I best be on my way out

You treat me just like another stranger
It’s nice to meet you sir
I guess i’ll go
I best be on my way out.

Ignorance is your new best friend
Ignorance is your new best friend

This is the best thing that could’ve happened
Any longer and I wouldn’t have made it
It’s not a war no, it’s not a rapture
I’m just a person but you can’t take it
The same tricks that, that once fooled me
They won’t get you anywhere
I’m not the same kid from your memory
Well, now I can fend for myself

Don’t wanna hear your sad songs
I don’t wanna feel your pain
When you swear it’s all my fault
Cause you know
We’re not the same
We’re not the same
Oh we’re not the same
Yeah, we used to stick together
We wrote our names in blood
But i guess you can’t accept that the change
Is good
It’s good
It’s good

Well, you treat me just like another stranger
It’s nice to meet you sir
I guess I’ll go
I best be on my way out

You treat me just like another stranger
It’s nice to meet you sir
I guess I’ll go
I best be on my way out

Ignorance is your new best friend
Ignorance is your new best friend
Ignorance is your new best friend
Ignorance is your new best friend

Well, you treat me just like another stranger
It’s nice to meet you sir
But, I guess I’ll go
I best be on my way out

You treat me just like another stranger
It’s nice to meet you sir
But, I guess I’ll go
I best be on my way out.

The band has a new album being released on September 29, 2009, I look forward to the new album, Brand New Eyes. I hope you guys enjoy the video and I hope it didn’t make anyone claustrophobic, haha.

Steven Tyler takes a dive.

Off stage that is! On stage at an August 6, 2009 concert Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler takes a nasty fall from the stage. The fall at the South Dakota show was caught on video. “Tyler suffered head, neck and shoulder injuries and the band postponed its next concert,” Associated Press wrote.

I always expect something like this to happen at concerts, you alway see someone in the crowd injuring themselves but the front runner of the band? And it looked like one NASTY fall. I hope he’s feeling top notch by now.
