Perfect waste of my time.

I think I just spent two and a half hours watching video game trailers and reading and watching reviews. Pretty awesome, I’m not going to lie. If you haven’t visited Game Trailers recently (or ever) and you love video games, then take some time this weekend to sit down and watch the trailers and listen to the reviews.

I was sad to hear (from a coworker) that Mafia 2 wasn’t a home run - apparently the game play is slow and you have to actually drive yourself from one spot to the other (no freeways!) Regardless, the concept is cool.

I’m not afraid to admit that I am a huge video game nerd (as you may have noticed from my excited when I pre ordered COD: Black Ops.) This website is awesome, it has a ton of great information and tons of videos! It also covers ALL formats - so if you someone who likes XBox (not me!) or someone who plays a PSP - this website has it all!

Have a fabulous weekend… Three day weekend next week - who’s pumped?!

Pre-ordered, baby.

If you were to ever meet me in real life you would realize a few things:

  1. I’m taller than in pictures
  2. I yell loudly at college football on TV (even louder in person)
  3. and I’m obsessed with Call of Duty

I recently pre-ordered my baby, COD Black Ops - and I’m not gonna lie, I’m more than thrilled. I’m taking the day off to learn the maps and play some online team deathmatch. I’ve heard so many great reviews about the evolution of the game and so many stories about how much better this one is going to be. I can tell you one thing, I’m stoked to see what the “zombies” portion looks like, plays like… ect. I’ve even decided to purchase a surround sound for my living room prior to the November 9 release date. (Ok, so at this point you are thinking I’m just a flat out nerd, right? Right indeed, I’m obsessed with COD.)

I play on PS3 too, not that silly little XBox. I happen to like the awesome graphics, blu ray playing and free online play. (: I had to share my excitement of buying my newest love with someone, so why not ya’ll.

Heeeeey Jude!

This might be high on anyone’s list of “things I never thought I’d see.” In the video below President Barack Obama joins Paul McCartney, Jack White, Stevie Wonder, Jerry Seinfeld, Emmylou Harris, Dave Grohl, one of the Jonas Brother’s, Faith Hill and Elvis Costello to sing “Hey Jude.”

Very cool video, definitely something we wouldn’t ever have seen from former President Bush (both of them actually) or any former President for that matter.

I hope you enjoy your weekend!!

Are you kidding me?!

This completely baffled me! On the Taiwanese talent show called ‘Super Star Avenue,’ which is much like ‘American Idol’, Lin Yu Chun sings Whitney Houston’s “I will always love you” better than she can (in my opinion). This kid is SO talented. If he had some new material (and a better hair cut) he could really be a star. Watch the video below and let me know what you think… Also check out this article I found on Digg.com.

Amazing, right?

Heresy War Trailer @PinnacleCollege!

I told you there was exciting news in the works! Here is the exact copy of the press release released only minutes ago. Pinnacle College is teaming up with DREAM BUILDER STUDIOS!

NEW HERESY WAR TRAILER DEBUTS ON PINNACLE COLLEGE WEBSITE
Dream Builder Studios and Pinnacle College Partner to Train Next Generation of Video Game Audio Professionals

ALHAMBRA, CA - October 21, 2009 – Pinnacle College and indie game developer Dream Builder Studios have teamed up to offer budding video game audio professionals unprecedented access to the Heresy War game in development. To kick off the partnership, Pinnacle College hosts the premiere of Dream Builder Studios’ new cinematic trailer for the upcoming combat space simulator, Heresy War. The trailer can be seen at: www.pinnaclecollege.edu/heresywar.html.

“Our goal has been to design the world’s best video game audio program – one that will effectively and quickly train gamers to make games, not just play them,” said Eitan Teomi, director of the Audio for Games and Interactive Media (GAIM) program, Pinnacle College. “The partnership with Dream Builder Studios is certain to catapult our students to a high level of proficiency. They will get great, hands-on experience by having full access to real-world game audio assets and game engine.”

Developed by Dream Builder Studios, Heresy War is a combat space simulator set in a future where humanity has reborn from the ashes after a catastrophic world war. The PC game puts the player in the cockpit of the most technologically advanced fighters in the human military fleet as he witnesses the start of a civil war. In Heresy War, the player will be faced with various missions, ranging from stealth runs or combat patrols to huge carrier battles of epic proportions, all these across a branching single player campaign. The branching campaign creates a single-player experience that is different every time the game is played. Recently Heresy Warr was named a finalist in the 2Bee Indie Game Competition 2009.

The news comes on the heels of a recent announcement from Pinnacle College that unveiled details of the nation’s first accredited degree in video game audio. In the 16-month Occupational Associate Degree program, students learn all aspects of creating and managing sound for interactive media, including music composition, sound design, dialog recording, audio asset management, and sound mixing.

Pinnacle College assembled top names in the video game industry to guide the new video game sound program, including: Alexander Brandon (Heatwave), Ken Felton (SCEA), Paul Lipson (G.A.N.G.), Lennie Moore (Composer, Pinnacle Advisory Board Chairman), Victor Rodriguez (THQ), Tommy Tallarico (Video Games Live, G.A.N.G.), and Don Veca (EA).
