How hard is it to stay on stage?

For Aerosmith front runner, the answer is very hard.  Steven Tyler took a fall (another one) in Toronto on Tuesday. Granted, this one wasn’t his fault - it makes me wonder how hard is it to stay on stage?! How embarrassing is that, really? I trip in front of no one and I’m embarrassed, he FALL OFF STAGE in front of thousands of people and has to get BACK ON STAGE and keep performing. Gah, I would have just ran out - but then again, I don’t make a fortune. (:

No, Weezy, thank you.

Now, I understand that not everyone is a huge Lil Wayne fan like me, but that isn’t going to stop me from posting stuff about him. While in prison, Weezy (who will be released on Nov. 4) has been (not as often as I would like) updating a blog at www.WeezyThaxYou.com. My favorite part about this blog is that he takes the time to respond to some of the mail that he has received while in prison.

Today, Weezy wrote:

What’s poppin?!

Me, I’m good, figured I’d update my glorious fans again. Better sooner than later right? I’ll try to do this more frequently.

Well ain’t nothing going on in here but the time, which seems like it’s taking forever. I’m trying to make the most out of every second tho, mentally. There’s some pretty cool people in here. Even though this isn’t a cool place to be. I’ve learned plenty already and the best lesson is to not come back. Last night, I kicked ass in UNO! Anyway, that’s neither here nor there. Just thought I’d let y’all know. Gotta stay hydrated. Though it’s hot, I still work out. Now don’t be expecting me to look like Hercules when I get out, but I should be a little bulky. I guess. Anyways, please remember to always check for your name in the “thank yous”. I’m always reading letters and responding. Off the subject but her Chris, I think you should team up with Kobe! Go Lakers! Hey Lindsey, glad it’s over doll. I should have written her huh? Young Money, you’re the best I ever had. Look out for Nino 3, and I Am Not A Human Being. Coming soon. Mother, I love you. Nae, you’re my angel. Lil Tunechi Jr., you’re the man. Lil Kam, you’re the best heartbreaker. Lil Neal, you’re the littler meatball.

I love you all!

This was followed by several Thank You’s to his fans. (I know I’m a huge fan and all) But this really made me smile. I love that he is taking the time to thank his fans (something most celeb’s only pretend to do). I can’t wait for the release of his I am Not a Human Being, which will be coming out on his birthday!

I really hope that Lil Wayne learns and grows from his experience in prison, I truly believe that his art will benefit from his time spent in jail. I bet we can expect to hear some crazy new Weezy stuff week/months after he’s a free man!

Uh, ya, she’s got talent!

Did anyone else see 10-year-old Jackie Evancho? A “viewer pick” for the TV show America’s Got Talent wowed the audience with her performance. This little girl is fantastic, how she has such a large voice in such a small frame is beyond me. Jackie definitely has a future as a singer, how far she will go is something we can only imagine.

I can’t imagine being 10 years old and putting myself out there in front of such a large crowd, like she did. I get nervous in front of small crowds, but not Jackie, she held her amazing composure in front of all of America. She quickly showed the world that age is only a number.

I look forward to hearing more from Jackie.

Have you ever wondered?

Have you ever wondered what it might look like to see an American Sign Language interpreter perform the Black Eyed Peas “My Humps”? I think it would look silly regardless of which BEP song it was but this definitely made me laugh…

Congrats to this guy! He really put his all into his BEP performance, KUDOS man!

Wyclef Jean for President?

That’s right, musician Wyclef Jean has announced that he want to be the new president of Haiti. This blog is awesome because it names 10 musicians that would make a better president than potential president Jean. I can’t like, however, I do think it would be very cool to see a musician like Wyclef make a positive change for the future of a country like Haiti.

Have a great weekend! Don’t forget if your in the LA area, there is a FREE game audio workshop at noon!!

American Slang - The Gaslight Anthem

A friend recently handed me American Slang’s The Gaslight Anthem CD (I get a lot of random CDs so I don’t really sit down and listen to them all) and after a week of it sitting in my car I decided to put it in my CD player. He told me “you’re gonna love them.” (Something I hear ALL the time, typically not true.) These guys, however, have been playing nonstop in my car ever since.

Listen to their single, and let me know what you think.

If you love them, like I do, you can buy their CD on Amazon.com (link above). I suggest you give the CD two good listens, the first will give you an idea of their sound, the second will suck you in and make you want to listen to them nonstop. (:

Thats right, the band Bad Religion has been going strong for 30 years! (Which seven years longer than I have been alive, crazy!) Check out Bad Religion: 30 Years, 30 Facts to Celebrate Their Anniversary and see if you find out any facts you didn’t already know. And if you’re not a big Bad Religion fan (or if you don’t even know of them at all) you should check out their Facebook page and get better acquainted! Congrats, Bad Religion, for 30 years of success!

My Wednesday pick-me-up.

I hope this works as a pick-me-up for you too… Because this song always puts a smile on my face (probably because I am a California Girl!)

Have a great Wednesday… The work day is half over, the work week is half over… REJOICE!

GaGa bringin’ back the music video?

This is an INTERESTING article about how Lady GaGa is bringing back the music video! I remember when MTV really showed music videos, when people watched MTV to see those videos, not to see some stupid reality show (with the same casts from when I was in junior high? really?). It’s funny how much the world of music has changed. If you would have told me five years ago that I could steam music live from my computer without commercials, I would have called you a LIAR. I think we all saw MTV losing the music video scene, and I’m glad to hear that GaGa is bringing it back! We missed you music videos!

Glad to know I’m not alone.

I heard this song the other day and it’s right on point for today. I work solely for the weekends. (Why are weekends so much shorter than weekdays? Unfair!)

I hope this song and old school MTV music video (back when MTV actually played music videos) will put you in a better mood to get through today and the rest of the week!
